Seeing and Working with the Earth's Energy
The question, or topic was posed, on seeing and work with the earth's energy, something I know I've gotten into before, but I'm not sure I've really covered all that well, since it requires at least some degree of 'seeing'. Right now we're in a phase of movement and re-awakening in terms of our hemispheric energy, the earth itself is shifting energy and this is to some degree unsettling to people that sense it, but may not be able to see where it connects with them. Beyond the normal shifting cycles of nature, which are certainly powerful enough in their own right, we're confronting even more change as the patterns in that energy shift themselves in relationship to a major cycle of energy that is affecting the planet and everything on it. So things are pretty unsettled right now, in people, in the world and in nature generally. Before we go off on a doom and gloom parade, however, you should realize that these are natural cycles and there is no personal issue in it beyond how it might or might not impact people in any given area.
One of the disturbing things to me about the entire Gaia movement is the personification of the planetary energy in human terms, instead of understanding it on it's own conditions. Yes, the planet shifts, moves and even sighs in ways that may seem quite human, but they are not human, they only affect human beings in ways that are both material and emotional depending on where the energy is focused and who happens to be standing in the way. If you can sense them, or see them directly, you can do better at standing out of the way at least if that shift happens to be destructive. In physical terms anyway, in a broader sense the planet can change in ways that affect us as human beings subtly or not so subtly as a whole species.
The earth is a sentient being, all major amalgamations of energy are sentient, but they don't watch cartoons on Saturday morning, the sense of 'being' is so radically different than our own that we can only really see it as it is reflected in our personal mirror of human energy. So we tend to give 'human' weight to changes, energetic shifts and movements, which are not personal in the least. Yet, the planet as a whole is in every sense of the word, our 'mother', it feeds us, shelters us, gives us carb-free burgers at Carl Jr's.
Understanding the energy involved is complex and since we only have ourselves as filters through which to strain our understanding, we very often misinterpret things in a highly personal way. If you 'feel' the earth moving, when there is no earthquake or changes in the thickness of the air, it means a change is rumbling through the planet, a movement of energy, we're sensitive to that because we allow ourselves to be sensitive to it. Where and how that will connect with human beings is the place that seeing requires ultimate detachment, to understand in the nature of that movement how people will be affected by it and how their own energy on the planet in turn affects it.
So while you can draw general conclusions if you've watched it long enough, the changes may not hit everyone exactly the same, or in fact, they rarely hit everyone exactly the same, yet the general nature of the energy creates a potential that is usually born out in people emotionally, although the outcomes may be different for each. The real concern for people that watch the planet as a whole come when the energy of those shifts becomes cohesive in a linear progression of time. That movement is a concern only because we know it's not personal, the planet isn't watching out for our personal well being and sometimes those movements can be violent in natural terms, or even in emotional terms if the energy is moving in certain ways. When you see it doing both at the same time it's a good time to take a vacation. Right now, it's doing both, it has been for at least six months that I've been watching and it's why I quit doing the general earth cycle forecasts. It could all come to nothing, it could all come to disaster on a biblical scale, but the one thing is for certain and that is you can't stop it, you can only figure out how to move along with it.
Are you describing an "energetic ripple", emotionally triggered, or responded to emotionally? That sort of amplifies itself?
That's definitely one way to 'see' it yes. Let me describe a few other ways to see it that might get you a few more specifics to work with. That is definitely how an empath feels it, they feel it in their body, the emotional energy of their body and it can be a ripple or a tidal wave, hard to pin down though. So what you're very often left with is assuming the worst, when in fact it may not be the worst at all. Right now I wouldn't want to be living around Vesuvius, but then again, people have moved there over time and put themselves in a place the planet is known to express itself quite violently. So the gloom and doom I find is very often created not by the 'events' in the shifting energy, but in our choices as human beings historically to just be stupid.
If you look at yourself, you're own energy, it connects outward into the world and is anchored there in a ways that move you across the energetic landscape of the planet. The best way I can describe this as a general 'seeing' thing is to look at yourself as the epicenter of your own energy, the place where you 'exist' as a core you, from that move outward in ever widening circles beyond the image of self to see how the energy around in nature is much the same, except that its 'center' is a heck of a lot bigger. Don't try to look with the eyes, look with the inner eye to see a landscape that is much different than any ever painted or drawn. That is a general thing, but if you will keep moving, keep 'seeing' that way, you will begin to see the energy all around you in a very different way, the connections of everything in the planet and on it are running together, in and out, like a cosmic bowl of spaghetti :). And just like looking into people, you begin to understand, not in a 'wordy' way, how different strands of that impact us as people or don't, where they go, where they are about to collide and move past each other like shifting plates in the earth's surface itself.
You feel yourself as the navel of the world, wherever you happen to be?
Yes, exactly. Just keep in mind it's not personal. This ties in to other seeing. If you're near a highway, sit with your eyes closed and listen, 'see' in that way, pick out the colors of the cars that are coming by, open your eyes to test your accuracy. Once you get good with the colors, 'see' the people driving, male or female. Once you get good at that, 'see' into them, are they angry, sad, happy, or just mind numb. Do all of them at once. Push yourself. Out from them there is an entire planet of energy that will yield to your seeing in exactly the same way. Once you understand how that energy is moving, what is what, then go further. Tie it to the timeline and project backwards into its potential, where did it run out of, how did it move into possibility, how did it come to be here as an expression of our reality. From there you can begin to look at it in a new way, by seeing into the current position of the energy and then its potential run, where will it end up expressing itself, in what ways physically. From there you come back around to people, where in people will that energy connect, how will in move them, how will they react. You will move out and then come full circle back into people, plants, and animals. Look at the planet's movement; what does any shift or change mean to it as a being within its own energy. The relationship between us and our mother is very complicated, but it's not impossible to understand.
Look at the planet's energy as river through time, a place that has congealed, a place where everything is connected and flowing in a constant movement of conflict and agreement, ask yourself, "where are we headed on this river of earth". Understanding what you look at is important, of course, otherwise why look, but what you should not do is bring into focus purely in human terms, the game is much larger than that.
I tend to get sort of "stuck" in the part of the world where I live, I am so attached to the energy here, except in sleep dreaming, which doesn't apply to this. How do I move beyond this powerful local earth energy/awareness? Its like I see the rest of the earth thru the awareness of this area, if at all.
Good question. My solution is to move up, push up through a spiraling movement until I can look down, or out on a much broader panorama. When I was young and silly, I would do it by putting my arms out and turning around in circles until I fell down.
Rather than feel through the feet/body?
Yes, not through the feet unless you're really looking at a confined area around you, although you can move down and through the planet itself that way. But if you're feeling 'stuck' then moving up is the answer. Here is another fun one if you don't mind your neighbors watching you be bizarre - spin clockwise, clockwise now, with your eyes closed, until right up to the point you feel as though you're going to fall over, get very wobbly, then suddenly jump as high in the air as you can and while in the air, start spinning counterclockwise and continue when you hit the ground while you 'look' out on the timeline. It's a hoot. It can rip you right out of reality, time and place altogether, if you're focused and intending to really move. You can do the same thing without moving, roll your head, with a good strong intent; the result is almost exactly the same. My grandfather, the bastard, taught me to do that one without telling me what to expect, then he laughed a lot.
There are a number of those movements that can just rip the hide right off your baseball, but I don't usually get into them. There are even variations on rolling the eyes that can pretty well take you out too. The problem is you want to use these things with an intent, a purpose, that's why we're talking about seeing earth energy and understanding the cycles of it, the shifts.
Well, why not?
Well, think of it this way, shamans started out with what exactly - a few sticks, some rocks and that pretty much left them with their own bodies as tools of experimentation.
Could i get high up enough by watching a hawk or vulture, while staying connected enough to see the earth's energetic movements as well as connect?
You can, just takes some practice, one of my favorites is to shift my awareness into a crow that's flying high and look from there, it's a local view, but a pretty broad one. You can move your awareness anywhere, and see from that position.
