knowledge moves through it riding all the electrical impulses

Found this fun article. :)

The last time I took psilocybin mushrooms I had moments of tuning into mushroom energy, which felt like very much like shapeshifting, and the “noise” I heard was very much like language, but in the way that insects harmonize and communicate together. However I feel like they also communicate with the plants, forests, soil, etc as well.

I vote to visit our mushroom friends first, mycelial network at the end? Then we could try to visit each other's mushroom friends through the mycelial network and take as many different perspectives as we can. But I'm not sure if we're voting lol :D

I think that might be a wise plan. I don't know if we are voting or not either, lol. What I do think is that this mycelial network is a really big undertaking and may require multiple journeys on its own so it might be good to sort of establish a connection with one type of fungi of our choice? I'm open to other opinions and insights. :)

There is a also a fear to face when working with it, it requires a lot of openness, like water it is able to reach everywhere. Interestingly shapeshifting seems to be the best way to attempt this for me. It's like we were fungi at some point, such an ancient energy, the same way we are water, fire, wind and earth, we are the same.

I see that, Christian, it's like a feeling of almost complete undoing - back almost to the source of life itself. The fungi have a really direct connection to the elements, we can reach back to that ancient energy through them.

Thanks for all the links to interesting articles, Cammie and Holly, I've read them all, they really help to open up ones perception of what a fungi is/was/could be. I really love that they estimate there are as of yet millions of species of fungi yet undiscovered by humans. I feel like we may tap into them as well when we work with fungi, we may be communicating with something that is not yet visible to science. :)

I like the question from the Guardian article on the language study:ian article on the langu

But do these trains of electrical activity have anything in common with human language?

I would say, 'yes', language is therefore an evolutionary adaptation so we probably have our language roots in the roots of other organisms' language? Maybe this is why we can communicate with all things?

I took another go this morning and I had the most wildest experience. I was moving underneath the earth gliding and in my awareness I felt the earth above (where we are living) and I could see those light white tentacles moving, underneath they seemed to be moving according to a certain "wind" there was definitely air energy making its way through it. My perception was upside down and I had the strange sensation that the up part was underneath the ground and the underground part was above ground. So it was completely reversed from human perception but I was clinging to it and the down was up and up was down. Eventually I was able to let go more and turned myself around to experience it as it is to them. It was kind of cool to be like that for a while I did not get much more just a first contact type experience. I had to turn around my energy completely, and then I hang there for a while gliding through it.

So today I will see the world turned around.  It's like I am the ground, the network, I am not an offshoot.

Ok another go this morning. Yesterday was interesting during the day, for an hour after I was able to keep the position but then it dissipated eventually. My experience was much more about my big intent and how I can move it better. It seems as an energy (like intent) the mycelium is quite opportunistic and will seize the right moment to move. For me it was kind of like stalking ruthlessly opportunities for healing in me and around me in the world as well. Understanding how the healing intent moves in and out of everything and changes everything it touches. It was difficult to keep up with it because at some point it felt like everything I do all the time is about healing and looking at it that way it requires a lot of constant energy but I guess that's the position it showed me and I will practice it.

Then this morning was more about the interaction with earth energy and how the mycelium moves the earth, it is slow paced but I saw it moving earth dirt, small bits at a time. There is probably some chemical stuff going on too but I saw the physical stuff only and it looks like tiny little things moving huge boulders, so lots of will. The time of it was very vast, this is a process that is not really on human life scale timeline but I am sure we can help and it help us, even if helping means letting it do its things.

Stalking ruthlessly for opportunities for healing in me, in the world as well. Wow that is intense, but also a very accurate description of how they worked with me with the mushrooms(I guess really mycelium since mushrooms are the fruit) that helped me. Everyday there was something else presented to work on. I worked for 3 months and everyday they had something to present to me to heal. Sometimes it was to intense and I actually would ask them to reduce the intensity of a certain thing they were bringing to my attention for healing. No doubt of their gracious sentience as they always kindly dialled it back when it was to much.

Thank you Alicia, that's good verification for me since I have very little experience with mushrooms.

I have another very different one today during my morning dive. This time I focused more on the "fibers" of the mycelium in order to understand them energetically better and it was actually a very calming/grounding experience. I guess something like being in potential and able to do anything if you choose to but you don't have to so you can relax. It seems it is in between worlds with lots of dreaming energy. Information is moving but also "nutrients" if some part  needs it is moved from on side of it to where it is needed. It is odd to dive into the fibers and find dreaming energy the most but reality is not that real, its really movable and fluid so it make sense. I will try to tap into that experience today and see how the day goes.

I tried to superimpose the web to my body to see where it would fit best and I got lymphatic system first and then nervous system. I did not observe those so far from that lense it was just like pointed out to me so that's something for me to explore more in the future.

Great discussions. I’d like to throw Reishi into the mix: it’s great for your heart, immune system, and for those of you who suffer from sleep disorders. I’ve been taking it since Covid, more regularly the last six months, it’s definitely changed the depth and quality of my sleep.

I do like this approach we are doing, looking at the entire mycelium network energetically, its properties relationships to us through different fungi and I am a firm believer in the healing power of mushrooms. For instance, I developed gallbladder issues last January that was also affecting my pancreas, but I lived on mainly a variety of mushrooms and broths (well, some vegan chocolate too!) because that’s what my seeing told me to feed myself. Last March my ultrasound showed a perfectly healed gallbladder. I tried Lion’s Mane for a few weeks during covid as well but my mind is very analytical and fast as is so it left my mind racing at full speed lol it wasn't for me. But we are all different.

Now, psiloben has played a role in the evolution of human cognizance, however it’s better to know what you are getting into if any of you do decide to trip. When you have a mushroom trip, the two hemispheres of your brain go into complete electromagnetic sync. You access and use perceptual doors ordinarily not available to humans. It’s also been shown that the IQs of people who have had a mushroom trip jumped 5-15 points after the fact.  I was in my mid-twenties when I tried mushooms, and what happened was that my Other popped out during my trip. Literally, out of my head, as in I couuld see from two places at once lol. So I walked around for 12-14 years with my other hanging around without me fully knowing what was going on, but I distinctly had the feeling of being two people for those years and not just one but a physical and energetic version I called my “simultaneous sister” :). The other thing that happened was that my active dreaming was off the charts. So was my evolution as a dreamer. I tore my dreaming veil a couple of years after that too. But I also was tormented in my sleep by various things... but I learned to handle that, as every natural dreamer eventually does and every maker will need to eventually learn.

Finally, I would be doing you all a great disservice if I did not share my experiences the last few years working with some students who didn't have a positive experience with psilobin or ayahuasca- basically hallucinogenics. In all three cases, the students were wrapping up tier 2 . I think Intent put them all in my path because of my own experiences I just shared.  When Lorrie devised the mentorship program here at the cave and asked if I wanted to mentor, I refused because I saw I would be needed for some wildcard moments of temporary close involvement with students… and in each case these wildcard moments turned out to be working with students who who plagued and tormented on the dreaming side after using a hallucinogenic, from micro-dosing to a regular mushroom trip doing an Aya ceremony.

In all three cases they were/are bothered by things on the dreaming side who's attention they caught. Emphasis on the words “plagued and tormented”. A maker shines brightly with a very white light on the dreaming side: the more energy you retrieve, the brighter you shine, so if you are early on in your training here, my personal advice is to try it now before you go too far with our work here and shine too brightly. If you are a full-fledged maker who has learned to act with power, I’m sure you know how to protect yourself.. So I guess this is targeted more for students like @Alicia, @HollyH and @Natalie: ladies, I spent months and many a night going into people’s dreams to help them fight off things they were not yet able to do for themselves after partaking.  I exhausted myself. I wasn't always successful. Two students recovered, one did not. One person had a breakdown, left their job, and eventually left the cave. So there is a reason why I feel compelled to share this here and now, so you can make an informed decision, and to advise you about considering the timing of where you are in your maker apprenticeship and energetic ability if you are going to trip.

So do consider what I’ve just shared: if you do choose to actually ingest, you might attract something on the dreaming side you do not wish to tango with or get rid of, I guess it also depends with where you are in your self-healing.

There. I’ve shared what I feel I’m duty-bound to share *grin*. Don’t let what I’ve written take away from the wonderful dives and seeing we are doing to learn about the mycelium network and mushrooms in general, just consider yourselves informed.

So I’ve been wanting to grow mushrooms for a while now, and there are lots of companies that will send inoculated grow kits, substrate, dowels, etc. So I decided since we’re diving into mushroom land to go ahead and order some! The pink oyster mushrooms are a tropical variety and will start fruiting in 7 to 30 days, which I thought would be okay since the weather was getting warmer here. Unfortunately the weather made a right turn and became rainy and cool lately, so I’m not sure if I’ll get any mushrooms before the class journey. The dowels are shiitake and are meant to go into logs, so they take anywhere up to a year to start producing mushroom. It’s a game of patience. However, I’ve been inspired by all of Christian’s deep dives into mycelium land and tried  one of my own the other day, focusing on the oyster mushroom mycelium. First it was a sort of “how do you do” greeting to the mycelium :) and giving it an oomph to outpace the little bit of mold growing in the substrate (totally normal, apparently). Then, I followed it to whatever it wanted to show me. It’s role as a recycler seemed hugely important to the earth, the death and life cycle. Something about earth energy and it’s relationship to fungi sort of felt like an origin story where the earth dreamed it into being, or perhaps it functions as a sort of ambassador to earth energy. Then it was down down into caves, going way back through time. I wasn’t sure that was “right” but a quick google search did reveal some interesting articles regarding this. It seems like our relationship with commercially producing mushrooms began in caves, but then there are also some interesting theories about fungi potentially being the catalyst for pulling the earth out of its “snowball phase”, also beginning in caves.

Today I’m happy to report that the mycelium seems to be secreting it’s digestive juices on or where the mold is growing. Go mycelium! :)

Thanks for the photos Cammie!

Just a short post about my continued explorations. I kind of like to take 10' every morning to do this, it actually sets up my days differently. Just a note about my dives, I do them without ingesting anything, I use the tools of my energy to go and see, experience, learn. I share Eman's concerns about experimenting but also things are becoming quite into pure energy for me so I don't feel the need to ingest. The advantage of that method is that it brings me an understanding of the energy which I can use in healing and move later on without needing the physical things with me.

I enjoy eating mushrooms though especially chanterelles from switzerland, they are great with raclette!! :)

Anyway this morning was about survival (balance) communication via senses. The sense I experienced was the sense of touch it seemed to be the primary sense the mycelium uses to gather information about its environment and communicate with it. It also showed me something about moisture balance, it looks like it can gather and retain moisture in order to survive and if that balance is changed it can become quite tricky too much and it spoils not enough and it dries up but interestingly the mycelium does not let that balance out of its control, it developed a way to gather when needed and to let go when too much (maybe using wind? that's what I saw but I am not sure), it seems it can change its environment to the best possible for its own growth by playing with water energy, so highly skilled in transforming its environment. To do that you need to be good at making agreements, human beings need that skill badly, how to make agreements instead of taking and destroying in the process. It requires more patience.

Usually I ask a plant if it wants water before watering it and it seems to work well, I guess it is not a bad way to go if you are growing mushroom too. Asking the world (plant, animal, kids) what it needs before acting might be a better way to communicate. Of course whomever you ask has to have clarity about what they actually need, it's fine with plants and animals it's much more confusing with human beings. I think what the mycelium showed me is that the question should light a path, the answer might take a long time and that's ok.

Ok sense of touch... it is wild to experience that because I kind of had a womb experience at the same time looking at how my own sense of touch developed, then of course touch is the first sense to come out in the womb.  It's like ancient times, you know you are in the dark it's all unknown around you so what do you do? You reach out to touch and experience, your survival depends on it, if there are fears there they could be really old fears in human energy. I did not experience fear though, it was more curiosity if I have to define it in emotional terms although the sense itself how touching feels in pure energy without human filters was great, it's much bigger and the detachment brings in more knowledge.

I am a pianist it's all about touch :).  In moving energy too we require often a light touch. There is a lot to explore there.

It looks like the method so far is to see something experience it and then apply that to your own energy and see where it fits, it's telling me, "we are not that different, here is the same thing in your energy."

It knows the maker method! :)

Hi all, I really like this video, it talks about mycelium in simple terms that were helpful to me:

Mycelium Network - Earth's Natural Mushroom Internet

It left me feeling like the mycelium is a type of brain or nervous system for earth.

It also reminded me that we might encounter tree energy on our journey 🌳

Lorrie and I worked with plants using smell, touch, music, etc., because I couldn't ingest anything when I was pregnant... so if it helps at all to talk about those experiences, like if people can't get get mushrooms, then that's an option.

@Eman don't worry i wasn't planning on ingesting magic mushrooms... maybe something like reishi or lion's mane :) I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with your trip and other peoples' trips.

Terence McKenna used to say that psychedelics were from outer space, because they could reproduce with spores that survive the cold of space... I felt like maybe the fungi could also live in parallel dimensions and dreaming, maybe a couple of spores sift through now and then. I felt like agreements are a super important part working with energy including mushrooms, and that the connection can't be forced it can only be offered, so idk we will see what wants to connect with us this time.

I have been doing some emotional processing lately, and I remembered that trees are older than humans.. Sometimes human life can feel really lonely.

But then I remembered how trees care for the younger trees, even the little trees of a different species than them 🌳

There are ancient trees like ginkgo, which are one of the oldest species on earth. The most ancient trees were here before humans evolved, before dinosaurs, before pangea separated into different continents, and their species carries a memory of the entire human existence.

In a way, people are also the dreamed children of the trees…

And the trees breathe for us and care for us too.

And the mycelium feeds and cares for the trees.

So I felt that humans are are the beloved children of the trees, and the trees are the beloved children of the mycelium…

I suppose before the mycelium were the sea creatures, the rocks that chose to sing and dream life into being, and the elements themselves.

@cyfnos This reminded me of you and I started to think of the sound of each of those species and beings, each of their intents expressed as a clear sound, lining up together. Creating and creating, pushing life and awareness and compassion forward through vast stretches of time and space. (And I felt how light seems immaterial, but it truly exerts force, light alone can push huge ships through the depths of space.)

So I went back through:

humans

trees

mycelium

rocks

elements

and aligning all of those sounds at one time until they ring together.

Which, as a maker, is maybe a thing I could do in my own energy… aligning my energy with that great cosmic sound and that great intent. Maybe on a mycelium journey, I don’t know if one is coming up :)

What a movement Holly, thank you for sharing.

Amazing how all is powered through time by sound and how those still exist, the sounds keep resonating in all things. Working with the mycelium I also saw sound moving through it and affecting it, especially the sound of the earth.  I will look at it closely and see what will come up soon.

Talking about the senses the mycelium today showed me a bit about the relationship between them, and interestingly touch being the first sense, its intent had something to say about the birth of the others that follow. I guess from the mycelium point of view everything is touch just touch expressed differently. So we touch with all senses that's kind of how awareness is, it touches all.

So I wanted to be more specific maybe getting some guidance about recap work. I did not change subject but redirected it internally focusing on my eyes, as I am aging my eyesight has become a bit blurry to the point where I have to use light prescription readers now. I have been able to slow it down but not to reverse it.

The experience was kind of cool it was like letting the mycelium grow inside my eye socket and let it touch it from the inside then it said "you let the the world hurt your eyes", so anything I saw touches my eyes and some of it hurt it until it became a physical problem. Even emotional stuff. All of that create tension over and over. So I asked how to heal it and the response what about detachment, basically using my eyes and the sense itself like a camera, it just records, it does not emote, and to keep any judgment good or bad away from it and then same with listening just record no judging. Same with all senses. Observation, no emotions.

I tried to find the origin of that intent when did I agree to let my eyes be ruled by emotions via my mind? The mycelium then showed me something interesting about fear, fear is basically how human energy defines itself, on earth we are the creature with the most fear and it has become so prevalent that we fear fearlessness itself because being fearless would mean that we have lost our humanity. We fear so we are human, we feel so we are human. It takes all the space and then everything else is hidden. There is a lot more to experience out there than our own feelings and our own feelings in reaction to those things out there.

I guess people working with mushrooms a lot do say that they change your perception.

In a way I am done with fear, in myself or in others, it has to stop, either I live fearlessly or I die, there is no point living halfway. I might become a cold bastard but I'll be a much better healer. The trick is to do that without judging it, if you judge your fear, and why you fear you are back with everyone else doing the same thing.

So I have mycelium tentacles with my energy now, they are starting to show me things. ;)

It's not much different than talking to your death :)

oh that sounds good 🤤 i'll probably be making a thyme/mushroom soup this week, salmon sounds good too. recently i've been leaning into mycellia and i notice what i see in return is 'belonging' and being held on the planet, an abundant network underneath us not doing anything just being.

looking fwd to the journey lorrie!

@cyfnos thank you for sharing all your explorations, it's been fascinating reading. I liked the mycelium's work with your eyes. And I feel like, I've met some healers who lost fear and became warmly compassionate... and some who became compassionate jerks :D

@Stacey, I love the concept of the network not doing anything, just being ❤️

Okay, I am trying to just see where we are at with our journey on Friday. I think we still want to choose a specific mushroom to work with and then later we will try and connect to the mycelial network? It's really hard to choose, I wonder if we can attempt both either in one journey or two separate journeys in one meeting?

Man this morning it went on for an hour healing session and it felt like 10'. I won't bother you with the details it's too long anyway but the question was asked, if I am mycelium what kind of mushroom would I create or would I be? The healing kind, the defensive kind?  And also what's out there, what's really needed?

I felt it internally in a personal way but this energy is really looking at its environment and is in the process of creating maybe new species needed to address earth changes but also the question was can I do the same? Can I become a new type of human? What is needed and can will I become that?

It was very weird, I lost all normal visual and went into shapes and colors at some point which seems like a language in itself.

I think I 'd like to be a sexy mushroom lol.

It was fun though, a lesson in 3 p's.

oh funny! i was thinking like a half hour ago that i think we should all just intend for our own maker mushroom and see how we can communicate through the network, lorrie you can be miss frizzle if you want : )

now's such a good time to make from wet earthy parts like fungi but too, molds on dead wet logs and dead rotting fruit on forest grounds. i do think we can make new species in the outcome and it does change our own make-up, this is my personal intent, playfully creating galaxies and solar systems and life, bringing the beauty of humanity to new planets and inspiring people with that while i'm here. but yeah it's a give and take and it helps me understand the chaos of the universe clearly, haha perfection truly is mythical lol. thank goodness for earth energy .

ive been catching up with this thread and the funny thing is it's effecting me musically, hearing the many notes of mycellia breathing their note into the environment. we're so much more ecological than we giveourselves credit for because of the heroes journey narrative we're well indoctrinated with, lol.

for a while it's sounded like one collective breath rather than a song, like an octopus so gender neutral, intelligent and alien. i was thinking about that and they mustve heard me. this morning i was modelling and all the students were usings walnet ink that they harvested outside. i was like GIMME and sniffed the hell out of that stuff til i was buried deep in the wet chippy soil. i don't want to be BAM in peoples faces with deathwalkeryness especially when im modelling, so i was like, can you express yourself through me so that people can see this damp earthiness we all go back to but in a fun and cute way, it was all in. so i was walnutty but all this lichen, mold moss dead leaf stuff kept popping up, but too i kept hearing varying notes of mycellia as i moved around. i was staring at my hand til it looked like a weird micro fungal thing. the walnuts expression, or rather the earth its from embodied through it thus myself,  was all coy and cute though took its time opening up. i think that while all this stuff is well-shaded nd often buried the story of deep earth energy is making a point of the discomfort of being in a perpetual state of mid-creation and tha it really does want to open up and be met with the sun. funny enough the instructor requested me to do "balled up" gollum poses at the end.

i know this isnt mushrooms specifically, but general late autumnal stuff, it's all a network anyway : )  also i have music...

it's like, darkwave mycellia vibes. i've known this album for years but it never really resonated til this morning. i cried : )

Hi Lorrie, at first I felt like we could do a mushroom journey first, and then maybe do the mycelium in a later journey?

But then, a lot of us seem really into the mycelium! So as long as nobody plans on operating any heavy machinery after ;) I felt like we could do both a mushroom and the mycelium in this journey.

I feel like doing both in one journey is pretty natural with fungi, but I can understand the idea of isolating a specific mushroom with exploration of potential and properties (healing properties, etc) However, it seems like a natural progression to move into the mycelium since that’s where it comes from, so I’d be down with either or.

also, here’s a photo of my pink oyster mycelium doing its thing! Popping out some mushies! 😍 Guess what’s on the menu next week? Lol

Hi Lorrie and friends :) - It has been awhile since I've been in the forum!

I will try to catch up on all the posts here but would like to try the journey with you all if that's ok.

I really don't have much experience working with mushrooms but will come with an empty beginner's mind. I am currently taking Recap 3 with @cyfnos and feel like I'm just starting to be able to 'see/experience' the energy of things in the world so I'm curious to see what happens.

Really hope you all have been well. Thank you @HollyH for being a bridge back to the plant forum.

That would be fantastic to have you join us, Arlene! I think we are all pretty much novices when it comes to journeying with mushrooms so it's all good.

@cammie So will you be journeying with your pink mushrooms?  I mean, since you are so connected right now already. :)
