Posted June 3, 20232 yr Is anyone interested in exploring lavender and chamomile more deeply? It seems these plants have more to them than what they are most commonly used for. I thought it might be fun to connect with them and explore their energy more in depth. I've been working with lavender lately and find it really complex and with a subtle power to it. For chamomile, this TikTok video piqued my interest in exploring it more: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRoN5TMs/?t=1 I hope you all can make it and that I've given you enough time to get access to one or both of these plants so you can work with them in some way, through scent of tea or even just touching the plant. June 5, 20232 yr Author Sorry to hear that Belle, what times could you join? Hopefully, we can make it happen. Lorrie
June 5, 20232 yr I can't make it, but I am thrilled you're doing this! Lavender and I have formed an inseparable bond that I am so grateful for, and I hope others can use this opportunity to discover its multitudes of lovely attributes. 🤗 Holly
June 6, 20232 yr I can make it at 9:30 (or 8:30) on Friday 🌿 @holly I would love to hear about your relationship with lavender. Would you maybe post about it in the forum after the journey?
June 6, 20232 yr Author I also have some suggested questions we could use for our plant journeys to help us possibly get more information out of it. These are just suggestions and would love to hear if anyone has some they think would be good to add! Questions for the plants: This isn't a question for the plants although it could be but I think it would be interesting to look at them through the lens of the different elements. Tell me some ways you've worked with people in the past? Why are you here in this specific location? (When working with one you've harvested yourself) Show me something nobody alive knows today. Show me your home Show me your form ? ?
June 6, 20232 yr thank you Lorrie and everyone🙂 and I like your questions Lorrie that's gonna be another out of this world exploration Jess beautiful indeed see you all then Belle
June 13, 20232 yr @HollyH as promised: I think my first interaction with lavender was in my very early 20's when I had a little eye pillow in the shape of a bunny that was filled with dried lavender buds that gave off the most calming and relaxing scent. I associated lavender with providing a time for rest and repose. I don't think I ever fell completely asleep while trying to balance the bunny on my face, but I did feel comforted by it. When I was about 35 or so, a woman saw me suffering w/a migraine and suggested I put lavender essential oil on my forehead, especially just above and between my eyes, basically the 3rd eye space. I started to use lavender essential oil for all kinds of headaches, as it provided a wonderful scent and made me feel less anxious about the pain. I felt like the intent of lavender was like to be a mother-figure comforting me and giving me a space where I could hurt but be cared for and slowly be brought back into balance. It also gently reminded me to get back into my physical body and tend to it, lovingly... as I normally lived outside my physical body and was much too much in thinking space all the time. So, the attributes I have come to associate with lavender are universal and personal love, compassion, interpersonal caring, rest/yin/inward, easing into balance, gentle/slow healing, originating and operating from a bit of a more spiritual plane... less rooted/earth (though that *is* a component) and more flower/air/wind. It's one of the few essential oils that most folks can use directly on the skin without consequence, too, which speaks to it's gentle nature, generally. It's also a scent that is unique and easily identifable by most folks... maybe that's why there is so much lavender-scented personal items on the market. I can honestly say that lavender has helped my anxiety, depression, grief, and pain... it has held me through some of my darkest and hardest times. hollye
June 13, 20232 yr @holly Thank you so much for writing this! Idk if you've had a chance to look at Lorrie's post about the journey, but we were working with lavender as a sort of "mascot" (to use @Belle's terms ) and are planning to use its scent to journey: https://www.shamanscave.com/maker-plant-pioneers-reference-material/group-work-using-scent-in-dreaming-6-9-23 It would be great if you wanted to take part in that journey! I also felt, when I worked with lavender, it was soothing, and very chatty about helping me notice the things that needed to be healed in my energy

June 22, 20232 yr Author Hi all, I had a couple updates on the lavender journey and dreaming experiment we're working on. First of all: @Eman and @cyfnos; I did dream where I entered a white light space and you were both standing there, sort of 'listening' and seeming aware but we did not interact. So I guess the intent to meet was good but maybe we need to add more. I was thinking that we could do some work with lavender while together in this dream space? We could ask it to teach us something about how it works in dreaming, if that sounds good? Also, we can add a little more fun - maybe we can be like Snopes for energetic claims about different plants. This Tiktoker claims that lavender has caused people to hear etherial voices, the smell unlocks memories from this life and possibly others and that fields of lavender attract 'ghost butterflies". What's up with all this? Let's explore in dreaming with lavender and see which is truth and which isn't. https://www.tiktok.com/@bee.better.company/video/7246986825212923141 See you in dreaming.
