I wanted to say that I'm sorry you won't be able to make the journey with us tomorrow but I hope you will still try it when you have the chance and let us know how it goes for you. Maybe we will get the mycelium warmed up for you. Lorrie
November 10, 20231 yr Awww, thanks, everyone, for the kind words about the business card. I'm kinda excited... I'm forming the business entity w/all the proper docs today, actually. I am going to follow Lorrie's advice to get some good dirt for the journey tonight. I also drink mushroom cacao every night before bed, and so I'll drink it a bit earlier tonight and see how that goes... working with chaga, reishi, lions mane, and cordyceps. @cammie Wowzers, those mushrooms look divine! Holly

November 10, 20231 yr Author Hi all, I sent a note to everyone who said they might come tonight with the meeting room info. Here is the link for tonight, it is schedule for 8PM ET https://www.shamanscave.com/irc/makers.html Please join us! Lorrie
November 10, 20231 yr Hey everyone, What a interesting and informative thread! I've enjoyed everyone's contributions (I also have a secret crush on Paul Stamets and Merlin Sheldrake. And Rupert Sheldrake ) I was inspired by Cyfnos' dives into mycelium and decided to get a start on meeting them. I don't have any great information that I've been able to translate lol, but it has definitely been awe inspiring. They are very forthright about their ubiquitousness in time and space and that's shown me different perspectives that I'm still absorbing I also journeyed with Amanita muscaria (I have used a highly diluted essence) and ghost pipe (which I've used to manage neuropathy). The Amanita showed up personified as a happy-go-lucky young boy, the ghost pipe as a rather serious older woman. I'm hoping to join you all this evening and continue these threads. It'd be good to 'see' everyone. Cheri
November 13, 20231 yr I have been dealing with a light cough at night and mornings for while and it came with no other symptoms but a light phlegm build up too. No fever, no nasal discharge. Maybe some allergy I don't know about. So Friday when working with cordyceps I looked for openings to heal it. I shared a bit about my experience then, looking at a place and time in ancient Rome, it looked like one of my thread, it involved healing horses and keeping their respiratory functions in good order while they were serving in the roman army. I was coughing a little bit that night at the beginning of the journey but at the end it had ceased completely and has not returned since so I think the journey healed me. I really don't have any other explanation for it but I can't tell really how or which part did it because it is not like I worked on it directly I just went for a little walk to ancient rome... I will see if it last. Maybe it is that simple. I also had my shots that morning and by the evening I experienced a few chills and tiredness as usual. I slept ok but sweated a lot and felt really good the next morning, so it was a good welcomed sweat, I think that helped the other issue too. There was no ingestion here just connecting and moving with that energy with intent. Cordyceps seems very efficient for respiratory functions, a strong agreement with wind and I can see how I can learn to breathe differently with its help. I guess not a single breathe should be wasted. It is also a very invasive ruthless species it knows its host very well, there is potential for learning more seeing techniques. Also in the past 2 days I used the energy of the mycelium more in my piano practice. I am starting with physical issues first, that means posture mainly and tracking and releasing physical tension and its emotional coloring (fear usually) in the body. It worked very well as a tool. I felt the mycelium moving into my body and working with the feet, seat bones, lower back, shoulders and neck and then down the arms to the fingers. It showed me how to release tension better as I play. There is a place in my back (middle left) that need some attention. The practice session created a new pathway toward better focus, it is quite detached and it feels like I am playing half asleep. I guess it helped me realized that playing very difficult stuff is quite normal actually. This is Liszt B minor Sonata so it is quite challenging but the passages became so normal after repeating it 100+ times with the mycellium that now I can open it to more colors of expression. My breathing was affected too. I will have to move it more into the energy bodies to further the experiment but the physical body is a good start. C
November 13, 20231 yr That’s very neat Christian. Glad your cough is gone. Mycelium seems to be a very willing ally I had some great verification the other day, too. I kept seeing that oyster mushrooms were good for the gut, but literally couldn’t find anything on it till after the journey. Yesterday I found studies where oyster mushrooms inhibit bowel and breast cancer while leaving healthy cells alone. Since experiencing weird changes to my gut I’m not surprised I was drawn to them in dreaming. I may take a crack at working energetically with the physical body, specifically with oyster mushroom mycelium, though the actual mushrooms have been delicious 😋
November 13, 20231 yr That is so great, Cammie and Christian. I feel that many were drawn to contact mushrooms that align with what we specifically need! One of the things I learned, working with plants, is that it can really help to have a physical connection to the plant to learn about it, but that does not need to be ingested. Then once you have a connection to the plant’s energy, you do not necessarily need the physical plant with you anymore to access it. It reminds me a lot of makers moving from using tools to working in energy.

November 14, 20231 yr I wanted to share what I experienced at the journey (it took me some time to digest it all!). Thank you Lorrie for putting together the 'trip' and for everyone for making it so interesting and lively. My intent for the journey was to learn how mycelium and mushroom energy can help heal the Earth and also our human lives. I experienced one of the widest horizon lines I’ve ever felt. It felt like a place of deep time - before life on Earth as we know it in our tiny lives. I saw myself touching the tree I visited earlier in the day (where I collected my fungi sample) and felt its bark crumble softly in my hand. I know (from my days as a papermaker) that fungi breaks down the structure of the cells that make the bark and wood hard but now I feel it deeply in a different way through that indescribable horizon line. It made me wonder if we can use mushroom energy to help break down the hardness that prevents us from our own healing and our ability to reach our fullest potential - hardness at the cellular level as well as the hardness that builds up in our hearts living in this miraculous yet also indifferent world. What if a touch of mushroom energy could create the softness we need to open our lives back to the miracle of it all in the face of all the things we encounter that cause so much suffering. And here is what came through (mainly through dreaming) over the week working with the mycelium: Great power has to be decentralized otherwise it would be too overwhelming and not as resilient to be able to last hundreds of millions of years. The great power of transformation is spread across the network of mycelium. I felt the great destroyer and great creative energy hidden under the surface of the soil in this networked system. It has literally witnessed the entire unfolding of life as we know it now. And in fact, life as we know it could not have been possible without its role in the plan to decompose all living things back into the soil and Earth to allow for new life and change to emerge.
November 15, 20231 yr {{Arlene}} Beautiful. Insightful. Informative. Accurate. Thank you. Glad to have you with us. ❤️
November 17, 20231 yr @Arlene I had a similar experiences. The mycelium suggested their techniques could be used to break down ossified human energy lines that are causing difficulties, on both personal and larger scale levels. Also in my experiences so far, they carry the vastness of their existence with them all the time. I have not been able to be with their energy without being completely awed by the breathe, scope, and grandeur of it lol. Hopefully eventually I'll be able be more detached. Still awed, I'm sure, but more present. @HollyH It is interesting how we are drawn to what we need, isn't it I've gotten a lot from reading everyone's experiences, thank you all Cheri

Hi Arlene, Thank you for sharing your journey insights. I wanted to respond to some of your comments. I think it's really interesting and an important point about the wide horizon line. the deep time before more 'complex' life forms emerged on earth, I think this is an important place to explore and work as we look for solutions to our current environmental crisis. I will add to your suggestion of working with fungi to soften the hardness we have with seeing our integration with nature as modern humans. I think working with that great 'decentralized power' might hold solutions for us as a species. We are that power, we come from that power, we would not be here, if not for that decentralized power, long, long ago. We can tap back into that as it is part of us, I say tap back in in a Recap. III sort of way, tap into that knowledge that helped to create us and see how we can utilize it to save us from imploding due to our seed of destruction. I wonder if there is a way to sort of unlock it in our genes. Is there something we can awaken and then it would spread out like the mycelium in humanity? That would be pretty amazing, I think it would still require personal choice from people. I want to explore this more. Lorrie

November 17, 20231 yr Thank you for pulling all of this together! btw I like all of your deep dives suggestions, but this one seems especially timely for our species.
November 21, 20231 yr @silenceseeker @Eman @cheri So nice to be in touch with you (and the group!) here again. This was quite an intense way to return to the forum! Looking forward to more diving
February 11, 20241 yr Ohhhh pretty turkey tails Alicia. Did you eat any? Ps. Can you remind me if you live in New England? Those pix sure remind me of the woods there.
