Greetings, I thought I should post a note about changes to the websites and what that means as far as classes and such are concerned. Currently, there are three web sites, https://shamanscave.com which has become primarily an informational site as it was originally. Https://caveshamans.com which is the class site. Https://archives.shamanscave.com where students can find their class logs from the old shamanscave site. The evolution of the sites has taken several versions and about three years. There was a great deal to reorganize and add in hopes of bringing everything up to modern web standards. Caveshamans has multiple forms for class listin…

Hello & welcome, To be a shaman is to be on a journey into the unknown and that is deeply personal, but what you bring back and are able to apply in the world matters. Our tradition is a contemporary one, that is we work within the framework of the present culture, just like the shamans of the old, and their ancestors before them. There's plenty of information, articles and stories on the main website, which should give you some glimpse of the work and whether this is something that speaks to your heart. One good starting point would be http://www.shamanscave.com/contemporary-shamanism/shamanism/ If you have any questions or want to discuss any of the article…

  3. ShamansCave is pleased to announce our 48th class session. Beginning classes include: RECAPITULATION - The Path of Self Healing (8 weeks) For those wishing to walk a shamanic path, self-healing is the first and most important part of that path. Self-healing is the long journey within, but it begins with a single step. Nobody can walk that path for you, but there is knowledge and practices for seekers who want to move beyond the chains of the past. One of those practices is the recapitulation - a fundamental exercise to retrieve our energy trapped in the past and to release outside energy which isn't our own. Recapitulation I begins: Friday, March 24th, 20…

I'm going to list two of my favorites: Endings - an excellent read, and something that makes you think a lot.. http://www.shamanscave.com/contemporary-shamanism/endings The Emotional Poles - A very long and detailed article on the major emotional poles, from a shamanic viewpoint. http://www.shamanscave.com/self-healing/emotional-poles What about everybody else?

While I am being taught still, and about to begin one of the final trials, my thirst for knowledge is still rather large. I do have a few questions in regards to the classes/lessons. While I believe education is important and a means to prove ones self, in such. Is previous teaching respected here? If I am to finish the trails before me, will the status be respected? Or will I need to take lessons here still?

  12. We get a lot of questions and confusion about what the Maker tradition is and how it fits in the grand scheme of shamanic traditions. I thought I would post a list of a few things of what it is and isn't that comes up a lot. This is not a criticism of other traditions/methods. We value and respect other methods but I would like to clarify some common misconceptions about the Makers.. It is considered contemporary shamanism, however: It is NOT Neoshamanism - this is not an invented tradition, it's been around a very long time It is NOT Core shamanism or anything related to Michael Harner's work It does NOT use power animals - there are other methods used for the same…

Looking at the path intent takes is often fascinating, for example I am wondering if we would have any shootings if the 49ers had won the superbowl, probably not for what I can see. Would that be a good reason for them to win instead of the chiefs? Could be imo, and it's not a sport's reason. Everything is so interconnected all the time. We have to really look at the big picture. Yesterday before riding my bike to work I saw an issue with it, I had a flat tire the night before but the tire was fine that morning holding air well so I decided to give it a go but created an intent to get to work safely and on time. Then half way down the path I hit Valencia st. ri…

Question: Past lives -- yes? Is life in this world a school, and an individual has many incarnations here as he or she learns (or fails and repeats) certain specific lessons? Or no?

Hi all. My friend Stacey recommended that I take the quicksilver class. I've only taken one class... Spirals. 1) what is the quicksilver class about 2) I navigated to the classes list and i didn't see the quicksilver class listed among all the first tier classes. When is the next quicksilver class? Why do i not see it listed? How can i sign up for it?

Hello Makers. Niteshad mentions the lunar cycle (phases of the moon) in 1 or 2 articles on the website. In the Maker tradition is there any use of the changes in the solar cycle (seasons of the year)? I'm thinking of the Celtic observance of the 4 mid-points between the equinoxes and the solstices, particularly Samhain (Halloween) and Beltane (May Day). Those two are times when the otherworld and this world are closer than normal or less separated. Or the "veil" that separates the two is thinned, allowing things and people to pass through. (In my view it would be a time when, for whatever reason, human perception of things energetic is heightened, easier, and …

Hi all. I am a new student and wanted to learn a little more about the roots of Shamancave and The Maker tradition that is mentioned here. Looked through several articles on the site but they seem to be talking more about shamanism in general. Could you point me in the right direction. Thanks, Julia

Hi. I tried to purchase the quicksilver class today. When i went to check out it asked that i log in. I tried two passwords (i clearly forgot the password). After the second attempt i was brought to a page that said "We have detected suspicious activity from your IP address. Your access to this site is temporarily suspended." Now i cannot see the shamans cave website. only the forum. So yeah... i'll definitely need to recover my password and fix the accessibility issue. Thanks in advance for any assistance/help.

Hi. I looked at the class list for tier 1 on the students forum. Apparently several classes are starting on December 11th? Including Seeing, Quicksilver, Recapitulation, and Shamanic Mind. My friend Stacey recommended i take quicksilver but now i don't know since i was aiming to do recapitulation? Should i maybe do two classes and just read the logs for one of the classes later? I know that these tier 1 classes can be prerequisites for tier 2 classes and i do want to progress as much as possible within the shortest span of time. So should my goal to be eventually take every tier 1 class? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
